Grandma'a Request - More pictures

Here are a few more pictures of Celia Rose.  She is nursing beautifully and Sara thinks her milk is starting to come in.  Yeah!!!!
The doctor is going to stop in to discuss some follow-up items and we are hoping that we can all go home sometime this afternoon.

Merry Christmas!

Sleepy Princess

Celia has switched gears from crying to sleeping.  She has been zonked for the last several hours.  The nurse was able to give her a hearing test while she slept and she passed with flying colors.
We think she's pretty darn cute.

Good morning

Sara and baby are doing very well this morning.  Celia is getting used to feeding and is catching on quickly.  Everyone got some sleep and we're all having breakfast.
We appreciate everyone who was such great support through this whole thing.
We are gladly accepting visitors between 4-7 PM today.  We are on the 5th floor of Meriter #579.
If all goes well, we should be leaving for home tomorrow.

Sending our love,

-Ben and Sara and Celia

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing...

Celia Rose Zimmerman

Born - 12/22/2008  8:20 PM
Weight - 10 lb. 6 oz.
Length - 22 in.

Mom and baby are both healthy and doing well.
Sara started Pitocin at 10:00 AM and went into heavy labor at 3:00 PM.  She only had to push for about 30 minutes and our darling showed up just in time for the snowstorm!
It's also worth noting that the Bears were down 3-14 until her birth, when they quickly rebounded to win in overtime 20-17 and keep their playoff hopes alive (note the scoreboard on the background).

Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

She's beautiful...blonde...and big!!!

Sara did an amazing job with the delivery.  Baby is just chilling with mom before we clean and measure.  It was amazing...go Sara, go!!!

It's go time...

Sara is fully dialated and we are about ready to start pushing!  We are waiting for the doctor to come down for another delivery and we will get started.  Thanks for your prayers.

We're getting there...

Sara is already at 8 cm!...and progressing nicely.  Momma is doing well...it's funny how she will drift away in a contraction and then quickly come back right where we left off in a conversation.
I'll keep you posted.

I think you'll understand

Are you the epidural dude?

My wife, who is flawlessly polite just asked a doctor if he is the "epidural dude".  Classic.
And yes...he was.  Better living through chemistry.  Thank you, Dr. Tom.

5 cm and counting

The doctor came by to measure and had some good news.  Sara is already at 5 cm!  It seems like it took 3 days to get this far last time...oh wait, it did.
They are starting to bring in some equipment and other goods.  Seems like things are going to start picking up quickly.

Doing Laps

Dale Jr.'s got nothing on my baby as we've put in at least a 100 laps in the last few hours.
Contractions are coming more frequently and are strengthening.
The doctor should be here shortly to check the progress.  Sara is wanting the epidural...and I may start wringing some necks if we don't the drugman here soon.

We appreciate your prayers.

Crank it up!

Sara hasn't progressed much in the last few hours so the nurses are brining the heat.
They are increasing the Pitocin doses a couple of times an hour.
Sara has had a few uncomfortable contractions but is still doing well.
I'm starting to believe that this child is a Bear's fan and is waiting comfortably in the womb until kick-off against the Packers tonight.  You gotta love this kid!

-Ben

B-Day Finally!

We have just checked in and are eagerly awaiting the "plan".
The nurses are hooking up monitors and preparing for our stay.  The doctor should be dropping by to discuss our options.

Sara is hoping for whatever gets this baby out in the shortest amount of time!
I'll keep you updated.  We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Baby #2 Update

Still pregnant...

Today is our due date. We are tentatively scheduled for an induction on 12/22 but are hoping she comes on her own before then. We will keep the blog updated.
